Asynchronous 202DL Modem

HSQ's Model 1354 Asynchronous 202DL Modem is a low cost, asynchronous, Bell 202 compatible modem for use over dedicated lines and radio frequencies. It is available as a PC board which can be mounted with stand-offs. The 1354 can be used with HSQ 2500 Series Remote Terminal Units and 25x86 Series Logic Processors.
The 1354 operates at speeds of up to 1200 bps over 2-wire or 4-wire unconditioned lines. It accepts input signals at RS-232 or TTL levels. The optically isolated output signal line can control a transmitter for RF applications.

HSQ's Model 2507 Analog Output Expansion Board offers 4 optically isolated 4 to 20mA analog outputs using 12 bit digital to analog converters. The 2507 can be addressed and read by HSQ's Model 2500 Remote Terminal Unit and controlled through that unit's expansion bus.
The 2507 maintains output current on command for as long as analog output power is maintained (ouputs source 4mA on power up). Loss and re-application of RTU power does not disturb the output level. Open circuit and surge protection are provided at all outputs.

Digital Output Expansion Board

HSQ's Model 2510 Digital Output Expansion Board provides 64 digital output drivers for HSQ's Model 2500 Remote Terminal Unit. Each output has an LED that indicates status. Outputs can sink 150mA, simultaneously, at 60_C (one output per driver; IC can sink up to 500mA). The 2510 board connects to the RTU microprocessor system via ribbon cable. HSQ Model 2523
Dual Processor Failover Panel

HSQ's Model 2523 Dual Processor Failover Panel controls RS-232 data channels between dual processor MISER systems and their peripheral devices. If the primary processor fails, Model 2523 automatically switches peripheral devices (including RTUs, terminals, printers, etc.) to the backup processor.

Failover circuitry is symmetrical. Either processor can be designated as "primary". When a "primary" failure occurs, the backup takes its place. Once the problem is resolved, the downed processor is brought online, as backup. At no time does the system have to be restarted.

The 2523's front panel switches provide for manual switching of peripheral devices between processors. Thus, development work can be performed on the backup while the primary system is in full operation.

HSQ 2523 Failover Software

When the system is started or rebooted, each Host processor determines the status of the CPU A / CPU B / AUTO switch and determines which processor will be online and which processor will be standby. The CPU A or CPU B status light will indicate which CPU is online.

If the primary processor fails to communicate for an operator-defined number of seconds, the backup processor sends a fail signal to the failover circuitry. All peripherals, regardless of manual switch positions, are automatically switched to backup.

The HSQ Model 2533 Isolated Digital Output Expansion Board features 32 fully isolated outputs, each of which is capable of sourcing 200mA at 60_C. Each channel is equipped with a suppression diode for driving inductive loads. There is provision for adding an optional multi-layer, ceramic transient voltage suppresser to each output for high voltage surge protection. The 2533 board connects to the RTU microprocessor system via ribbon cable. It can be addressed, read and controlled by HSQ 2500 series Remote Terminal Units and 25x86 Series Logic Processors through the expansion bus.

The HSQ 2534 Intelligent Digital Input Expansion Board is designed for applications requiring extremely fast input detection and Sequence of Event (SOE) recording. Inputs are interrupt driven and time tagged. Input detection and timing are programmable to a resolution of 1 millisecond. The 2534 can be used with HSQ 2500 Series Remote Terminal Units and 25x86 Series Logic Processors.

The 2534 features optical isolation for 32 digital input control circuits to the RTU or LP. Each input provides RC noise filtering. LEDs visually indicate the status of current operations. The 2534 connects to the RTU microprocessor system via ribbon cable. It can be addressed, read, and controlled by the RTU or LP through that unit's expansion board.

HSQ Model 2535
DI to AI Adapter Board

The HSQ Model 2535 DI to AI Adapter Board contains four digital inputs on an eight position pluggable terminal block. The terminal configuration is identical to HSQ's 2509 board. Each input accepts +24Vdc from contact closures or other 24 volt source referenced to the RTU 24 volt return. The inputs are not dielectrically isolated from the system; but, due to their input circuitry, are highly immune to noise.

The 2535 plugs into one of the four AI terminal blocks (TB1 - 4) located on the left side of the HSQ 2504 RTU or the left side of an HSQ 2508 board. Up to four 2535 boards can be installed per 2504 or 2508.

The HSQ Model 2569 16 Digital Input / 16 Digital Output Expansion Board is designed for use with HSQ 2500 Series Remote Terminal Units and 25x86 Series Logic Processors. It features sixteen +24 volt inputs and sixteen +24 volt outputs. Inputs and outputs are paired with LEDs. The inputs accept DC voltage or connect to dry contacts. The outputs source 200 mA per channel. Each has a suppression diode for driving inductive loads.

The 2569 is fabricated with internal voltage and ground planes. Each section-input circuitry, output circuitry and logic circuitry-is optically separated. Thus, the 2569 provides noise and transient resistance and full galvanic isolation. The board is addressed and controlled through an HSQ 2500 Series expansion bus.

HSQ Model 2585
Power Control Board

The HSQ Model 2585 Power Control Board provides monitoring and switching capabilities for battery backed RTUs. It provides a battery charging circuit with current limiting at 1.25 Amps. Whenever the 2585 detects a power failure, it automatically switches the RTU to its battery backup, thus assuring smooth and continuous operation. The 2585 features optically isolated power status and battery disconnect control lines. The battery disconnect circuit contains a fail-safe mechanism which guards against deep battery discharge. The 2585 monitors the battery voltage and disconnects from the battery at 19V to prevent damage to the battery and reconnects the system to the battery once the battery is recharged to ≥23.5V. Also featured on-board is a fixed voltage regulator for 5.3V and an adjustable regulator for 5, 9, 10, 12, 13, 15, 16, 18 or 24 V.
